PURPOSE:To smoothly insert a bush type cam by providing a holding member body having a holding member which holds said bush type cam and a driving mechanism for making the center of said bush type cam agree with the center of a mounting hole. CONSTITUTION:The Z-shaft 12 of a perpendicular robot is lowered, holds a cam 6 with a holding member provided on its end part and, then, is lifted up. Then, the Z-shaft 12 is rotated to become a horizontal condition and advanced, and the cam 6 is coaxially faced to the end part 5 of a horizontal shaft 4. And, first, the cam 6 is fitted into the end part 5 of the horizontal shaft 4 and, then, a metal member 21 is projected out by operating an air cylinder 20 to lift up a movable member 14 against the restoring force of a spring 16. As the movable member 15 is lifted up, a holding member body 17 is also lifted up and, when it is lifted up to where the center of the cam 6 agrees with the center of a mounting hole 3, the air cylinder 20 is stopped, and the holding member body is again advanced by means of the robot, to insert the cam 6 which is held by a holding member 33 into the mounting hole 3.
