PURPOSE:To effectively utilize a television receiver with character broadcasting receiving function by providing an IC card interface which connects loadably and unloadably an IC card possible to write and read optionally the content of a character broadcasting signal. CONSTITUTION:First of all, a television signal obtained from a reception part 2 is supplied to a waveform equalizing data fetch circuit 12, and at the circuit, the character broadcasting signal is feteched. The character broadcasting signal, after it is converted to a parallel signal by a serial/parallel conversion and error correction circuit 16 and is error-corrected, is stored at a fetching buffer 17 temporarily. Furthermore, the character broadcasting data is stored on a data memory 22, however, it can be transferred to an IC card 36 through an IC card interface 35 by an instruction form a keyboard 33. And the data trans ferred to the IC card 36 is transferred to a character broadcasting signal processing part 5 when required, and the broadcasting data can be displayed and confirmed.
