PURPOSE:To attain the management of infinite files in infinite optical disc volumes in appearance by providing a migration means and an assembling means which write a bit of file information on a dispersion management file from a volume management file. CONSTITUTION:The bit of file information corresponding to a key value is read in with a migration means 2 from a volume management file 4 setting a volume name from a terminal 1 as the key value. Next, the volume name that is the key value is compared from a read in file information record, and it is decided whether the migration of the file information record is terminated or not. As the result of a decision, when the migration is not terminated, a file name is obtained from the file information record, and a file management record is written at a dispersion management file 5 with the volume name setting the file name as the key. Meanwhile, an assembling means 3, after the migration by the means 2 is completed, sets the path name of the file 5 at the file 4. Thereby, the file 5 is assembled and controlled in the file 4, and the infinite files in the infinite optical disc volumes in appearance can be managed.
