PURPOSE:To obtain a toner having superior durability and moisture resistance by subjecting an org. silane compound represented by a specified formula and other polymerizable monomer to emulsion polymn., salting out the resulting polymer emulsion so as to form particles of a particle size suitable for a toner and carrying out heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:0.1-30pts.wt. of an org. silane compound represented by formula I (where n=1, 2 or 3, m=0, 1 or 2, n+m=3, Y is a hydrolyzable group and Z is an inert univalent org. group) and 70-99.9 parts other polymerizable monomer are subjected to emulsion polymn. in the presence of a colorant and/or magnetic powder to produce a principal resin component. The resulting polymer emulsion is salted out so that particles of the polymer have a particle size suitable for a toner and heat treatment is carried out at a temp. above the glass transition point of the principal resin component. Thus, a toner having especially superior durability and moisture resistance and ensuring superior image density, resolution and gradiant can be obtd. |
