PURPOSE:To increase the speed of a rotor body and to enhance the separation effect of a specimen, by providing taper to the outer periphery of a tube adaptor for holding a specimen and the inner wall of an adaptor insert hole so as to fit both of them in a closely contacted state. CONSTITUTION:Taper is formed to the outer periphery of a tube adaptor 5 for holding a specimen and the inner wall of an adaptor insert hole 3 so that both of them are fitted to each other in a closely contacted state to constitute a rotor for a centrifugal separator. Even if downward stress is generated in the tube adaptor 5 for holding the specimen in the axial direction thereof at the time of the operation of the centrifugal separator, said stress is dispersed by the tapers formed to the outer periphery of the tube adaptor 5 and the inner wall of the adaptor insert hole 3 and large stress can be effectively prevented from locally being applied to the contact part of the tube adaptor 5 with the adaptor insert hole 3.
