PURPOSE:To allow a primary station to automatically set and change an address equipment number of a secondary station by allowing the secondary station to automatically set an address in a loop control system. CONSTITUTION:The primary station 1 and the secondary stations 2-1-2-3 are connected in a ring by a loop signal, an SC (sending data) signal from the primary station 1 goes to an RD (reception data) signal of the primary station 2-i and drawn into the inside. The secondary station 2-i receives the RD signal and sends it to the next secondary station as the SD signal with a delay of 1 bit or supervises the RD signal when a data to be sent exists in the inside, the timing is taken as the SD signal and they are received finally as the RD signal of the primary station 1. A data transfer protocol in the loop control system is executed by a loop procedure of a high level data link control.
