PURPOSE:To avoid the magnetization of a track from being reduced when a metallic magnetic body crosses the recorded track by arranging the metallic magnetic body between tapering opposed faces of a couple of ferrite cores and forming the metallic magnetic body the same as the track width. CONSTITUTION:Ferrite cores 30 constituting a magnetic head are arranged oppositely and the metallic magnetic body 34 is arranged between the tapering opposed faces 32 of the cores 30. The magnetic bodies 34 are arranged oppositely and an operating gap 36 is formed at the boundary face. The width of the magnetic body 34 is formed nearly the same as the track width. In the magnetic head constituted above, since the magnetic bodies 34 and the core 30 in excess of the track width do not directly contact the track of the magnetic sheet, even when the magnetic head crosses the recorded track at the magnetic recording and reproduction, the magnetization of the track is not reduced.
