<p>In sepn. and purification of blasting grit by wet processes, the material to be sepd. is collected in containers, the coarse material is sieved off on a vibrating sieve, the remaining material is passed into a jig in which a pulsating upwards water stream is developed through a bed, so that the coarse paint particles are sepd., the fraction passing through is transferred to a flotation tank in which a suspension is prepd., adding a turpentine with 17 vols. % aromatic content as collector, a small amt. of petroleum as activator, and, as detergent, a small amt. of a 25 vols. % aq. soln. of polypropylene glycol, at 25 deg. C, after which air is blown into the liq. mixt. The sepd. phases are collected separately, withdrawn, sieved into various fractions and dried.</p> |
