PURPOSE:To suppress coming off of active material and deformation of plate and achieve longevity of charge-discharge cycle by forming a zinc electrode with at least one of zinc oxide and zinc powder which serve as active material and butyl rubber which acts as binder having elastisity. CONSTITUTION:Butyl rubber having alkali resistance and elasticity is added as binder to at least one of zinc oxide and metal zinc which serve as active material and mercuric oxide which is additive. They are kneaded and rolled and press-bonded on the both sides of a current collector comprising copper, and dried in an atmosphere of nitrogen to form a zinc electrode. Thereby, holding ability of zinc material is increased, and coming off of active material and deformation of the plate are suppressed and longevity of charge-discharge cycle is achieved. |
