PURPOSE:To simplify an external signal processing circuit by gathering the output parts of a solid state image pickup device composed of a solid state image sensor and a micro color filter. CONSTITUTION:A solid state image sensor is composed of a photodetector 1, a vertical charge transfer part 2 and a transfer controller. A mosaic micro filter is provided above the photodetector 1. The respective signal charges of three colors separated by the filter are supplied to three horizontal CCD's 3R, 3G and 3B provided corresponding to the respective colors through the transfer part 2. The signals read out by transfer gates 4R, 4G and 4B are gathered by an output part 8 through transfer output parts 6R, 6G and 6B and read out. The signals selected by discharge gates 5R, 5G and 5B are gathered by one output part through discharge output part 7R, 7G and 7B discharged.
