PURPOSE:To stabilize head touch and to execute the satisfactory high recording density recording and reproducing by providing a magnetic gap on the bus of a magnetic head cylinder surface to slide with the flexible magnetic recording media. CONSTITUTION:A fitting part 2a of a head supporting stand 2, in which a magnetic head 1 is fitted, is supported to an outer end part 2c by two supporting parts 2b, has the freedom degree to the rotation with the inner circumferential direction of magnetic recording media 4 as the shaft, and on the other hand, the rotation with the radius direction of the media 4 as the shaft is restricted by a pin 5 protruded from a carriage 3. On the other hand, the sliding surface of the head 1 has the curvature in the inner circumferential direction of the media 4 and makes the head touch satisfactory. Thus, only at the vicinity of a head gap 8 provided on the bus of the sliding surface of the head 1, the surface pressure comes to be higher, the durability is satisfied and the satisfactory recording and reproducing can be executed.
