PURPOSE:To improve the strength, workability and weldability by specifying the amounts of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Al, Ti, etc., and forming a ferrite-pearlite structure over the full length. CONSTITUTION:This wire rod for a long-sized high tension steel wire consists of, by weight, 0.3-0.65% C, <=1% Si, 0.3-1.5% Mn, <=1.2% Cr (Mn+Cr=0.3-1.5%), 0.0005-0.3% in total of one or more among 0.002-0.1% Al, 0.002-0.1% Ti, 0.001-0.3% Nb, 0.001-0.3% V and 0.0005-0.1% B and the balance Fe and has >=0.57% carbon equiv. calculated by a formula Ceq=C +1/5(Mn+Cr). The wire rod has a ferrite-pearlite structure over the full length and also has >=70kgf/mm<2> tensile strength.
