PURPOSE:To control input/output devices of different kinds by one piece of program by generating a CDB (command information store block) by using a device correspondence command table. CONSTITUTION:A control part 4 controls plural kinds of input/output devices 2, 3 which have been connected through a channel 11, also detects, a kind of a device of the devices 2, 3, when an access request to the device 2 or 3 from the outside has been transferred through an input part 8, and transfers it to a channel command word (CCW) generating part 6, and a CDB generating part 5, together with data of a unit number, a command name, etc. contained in an access request data. A CCD generating part 6 generates a CCW, based on the transferred data. The CDB generating part 5 refers to a device correspondence command conversion table 1, based on a kind of a device of the transferred data, and generates a CDB by a CDB format corresponding to the device. The channel 11 executes an access to the indicated input/output devices 2, 3, based on the CCW and the CDB.
