<p>The housing (11) is shaped like a conventional 'wet' safety razor. In the handle of the razor are two batteries (12) which drive a small d.c. motor (13). The cutting element (14) is a spiral spring which has straight sections (15) and semicircular sections (16), stretched around two outer pressure rollers (19). Covering the spring is a cutting plate (17) with apertures (18) which allow the stubble to penetrate the plate. In addition to the pressure rollers (19) is a driven roller (20) in the centre of the head. The drive motor is coupled to the motor via a shaft, and to the spring via slots in its concave conical top surface. Alternatively there is a reciprocating agitator at one end of the spring, the other end being free to move inside a curved cylindrical cutting plate.</p> |
