PURPOSE:To eliminate a drop in efficiency by obtaining correlation between position signals of plural measuring means by an arithmetic means and stopping one tracking when a deciding means detects a set of two measuring means, whose correlation value exceeds the prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is constructed of plural measuring means, an arithmetic means 41 obtaining the correlation between the position signals by the measuring means 7 and the deciding means 42 which stops one tracking when it detects a set of two measuring means whose correlation exceeds the prescribed value. The difference (distance) between position coordinates of objects tracked by windows Wi (i=1-8) is accumulated in the prescribed time (4sec), and a value in proportion to the reciprocal number of the value is obtained as correlation. If a set of two windows whose correlation exceeds the prescribed value, the track stop instruction is issued to the window with a higher window number.
