PROCESS FOR PREPARING ESTERS OF CEPHALOSPORIN DERIVATIVES

Cephalosporin esters of formula(I; R1=H or C1-6 alkyl; R2=C1-6 alkyl, aryl, adamantyl or OR3; R3=C1-6 alkyl) are prepd. by the reaction of 7 beta-[2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-(Z)-2-methoximino acetamido -3-[1,2,3-thiazol-5-yl)-thiomethyl -ceph-3-em-4carboxylic acid with an alkylating agent of formula(II) in the presence of an acid acceptor, pref. NEt3. (I) are active on oval admin. (II) are described in US 4399132.
