PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity by using a specified phthalocyanine deriv. as a sensitizer. CONSTITUTION:A charge generating layer and a charge transferring layer are formed on an electrically conductive substrate. The charge generating layer contains beta-copper phthalocyanine and a phthalocyanine deriv. represented by formula 1 or 2 (where M<1> is H or a univalent metallic atom, M<2> is a bivalent metallic atom or a ter- or higher-valent metallic atom bonding to the ligand, X is an org. or inorg. cation, Y is halogen or the like, n=1-3, m=1-8 and k=0-8). The preferred amount of the phthalocyanine deriv. in the charge generating layer is 0.01-0.5pt.wt. per 1pt. beta-copper phthalocyanine and that of a binding resin is 0.2-2pts. |
