PURPOSE:To prevent a malfunction of a calling button and simplify a calling operation by displaying an extension number of a telephone corresponding to a pushed down button when pushing down the button individual for the extension and the present state. CONSTITUTION:When the key telephone set #1 of the extension number #1 presses the calling button 26 individual for the extension corresponding to an extension number #2, key data corresponding to the button 26 is fed to a main control part 14 in a main device and the control part 14 reads state data from a memory designating the telephone set #2 in a telephone state memory 11 and transmits to the telephone set #1 through a telephone set interface 12. The CPU 18 in the telephone set #1 receiving this state data through a data interface 15 outputs a command of a state display to a display control part 17 and the control part 17 controls so as to make a character display device 25 display the data corresponding to the designated state data for a fixed time.
