The automobile auxiliary power transmission having a synchroniser mechanism is composed of a synchroniser hub. A pair of synchroniser rings cooperating respectively with a low speed and high speed gears, and an axially movable synchroniser sleeve. The synchroniser sleeve has spline teeth for engagement with the synchroniser hub and with the synchroniser rings and the gears. The spline tooth on the sleeve has an axial length whcih is sufficient to engage with both of the synchroniser rings when it is disengaged from both of the gears, by a pair of friction clutches, both with frustoconical surfaces, engaging the frustoconical surfaces, engaging the synchroniser rings. |
