The power transmission mechanism comprises a globoid worm (12), and a wheel (14) with a number of recesses (22) in the periphery. The spacing between the recesses corresponds to the pitch of the continuous groove(16) in the worm. The recesses are set at a suitable angle to accommodate ball or roller bearings (18) engaging with the groove. The wheel pref. comprises a pair of discs, between which the bearing are mounted. Each bearing may comprise inner and outer annular races, with the inside surface of the outer race being curved. There is a recess in theoutside surface of the inner race, so the balls are secured in position between the races. |
