COATING MATERIAL FOR OPTICAL GLASS FIBER

PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent coating material for optical fiber, by compounding a liquid diene polymer containing polymerizable unsaturated bond with an ether polymer containing polymerizable unsaturated bond. CONSTITUTION:The objective coating material for optical fiber is composed of (A) a resin mixture consisting of 5-90pts.wt. of a liquid diene polymer containing polymerizable unsaturated bond and 95-10pts.wt. of an ether polymer containing polymerizable unsaturated bond, (B) a compound having acryloyl group or methacryloyl group and (C) a polymerization initiator. The amount of the component B is 10-500pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the component A and that of the component C is 0.01-20pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of A+B.
