PURPOSE:To improve the oil retaining force and breaking strength of a humid frictional material by using acryl fibers liable to be fibrilated and having satisfactory adaptability to resin and an adhesive force to other fibers. CONSTITUTION:Fibrilated acryl fibers are used to provide thin air bores for improving an oil retaing force. The acryl fibers consisting of 5-50 wt% of fibers mixed with filler are formed into a sheet of paper to provide a base material which is impregnated with thermosetting resin to be hardened. The acryl fibers improves not only the oil retaining force but also an adhesive force to other fibers and breaking strength.
