Improvements in the manufacture of cleaning solutions, characterised in that chlorhexidine or a salt of the same is combined with a sequestrating agent for calcium and magnesium ions which are normally present in water of the mains type and a chlorine-removing agent for removing chlorine from typical mains water, the compound being suitable for dissolution in mains water and producing a cleaning solution for the disinfection of desired articles.
