PURPOSE:To obtain then titled plaster having prolonged activity and useful for the prevention of the fit of asthma, etc., by mixing chlorprenaline hydrochloride with a release-improving agent selected from glycols, lower aliphatic alcohols, etc., and a plaster base and adjusting the pH of the mixture to a specific level. CONSTITUTION:The titled plaster can be produced by uniformly mixing (1) 0.1-10wt% clorprenaline hydrochloride (abbreviated as cp), (2) 1-10wt% release-improving agent selected from glycols, lower aliphatic alcohols, araliphatic alcohols, N-methylpyrrolidone, etc., and (3) a plaster base (the sum of the components i 100wt%), adjusting the pH of the mixture to 7-10 and, if necessary, spreading the mixture on a substrate. The releasing rate of highly water-soluble cp from the base can be improved to enable the transcutaneous absorption of the drug. The drug in the composition has prolonged activity and is especially useful for the treatment of the fit of asthma, etc., at night or in early morning. It is preferably applied near the bronchus or lung.
