PURPOSE:To enable charge and discharge to be performed without an external power source and a commericial power source needed, by intermittently circulating electrolytic solution by using electrical energy stored in a secondary cell during a charge-and-discharge term of constant current control. CONSTITUTION:When a charging is performed in a static state of a pump, zinc ions and bromine ions existing in electrolytic solution inside a cell gradually decrease because of no electrolytic solution circulating inside a cell-reaction chamber, and electrical resistance of the electrolytic solution increases from a charging region of constant current-controlled charge-and-discharge, together with a rise of the charging voltage. With a change in this process, the charging voltage rises, and when the voltage becomes in excess of a setting base directly prior to its rapid rise, the pump is operated by electrical energy stored in the cell to circulate the electrolytic solution existing in the tank for successive charging. This intermittent operation of the pump is available also at the discharging term. |
