PURPOSE:To improve maintenance for the replacement of ink films, the blocking of papers, etc., by making a printer body compact by a method in which a thermal recording head is attached to the upper plate of a case in a retractable manner and the upper plate is allowed to be opened or closed. CONSTITUTION:A drive motor 18 is turned to turn eccentrically a bearing 40 coupled with an eccentric shaft 21, and thereby a portal link 17 is vertically moved. The action of the link 17 is transmitted to the rocking movement of an arm c16, the receiving plate 12 of a head 7 is pushed up, and the head 7 is allowed to retract from a platen rubber roller 23. When the arm c16 is lowered, the head 7 is lowered by the recovery of the spring 13 to press the roller 23. Since the plate 12 of the head 7 can be separated from the arm c16 without any restriction, the upper plate 5 of the case can be freely opened or closed. |
