The shaft control 4 of an axle 3 which may occasionally be coupled by a clutch device 2, 10 to a permanently driven motor vehicle axle 1, must have a greasing device, in the field of the greasing of gears by oils splash lubrication, by means of which the losses due to the oils splash lubrication are eliminated when the axle 3 rotates without load. For this purpose a greasing device has been provided which is actuated automatically by the clutch device 2, 10 and which makes it possible to raise the level of oil in the sump by engaging the axle 3. <IMAGE>
