PURPOSE:To increase the accuracy in positioning of the working of a work irrespective of the heat of the work and of the accuracy in the press machine by detecting the work transferred in order to the work position of a press machine by approaching with the view field sensor which is freely movable. CONSTITUTION:The work 3 preheated by a heating device 4 is transferred in order to the work position under a metal die 5 by a material feeding device 2. The work 3 is correctly arranged at the work position by advancing the view field sensor 15 supported by a sensor supporter 11 with a cylinder 12 and by picking up the image by a CCD camera 19 by approaching a prism 20 to the work 3 working position. Thereafter the pressing is performed by retreating the view field sensor 15. A fiber scope 17 is for irradiating the field of view and its movement is enabled with an electrical relay only at the releasing time of the metal die 5. The work positioning of the work 3 can be performed with high accuracy irrespective of the heat of the work 3 and the accuracy in chattering of the press machine 1.
