PURPOSE:The titled composition, obtained by blending ethylene-vinyl acetate based resin and/or linear low-density polyethylene with aluminum hydroxide, silicone based resin composition, etc., in specific amounts, having improved mechanical characteristic and low smoking property without toxicity and suitable as a covering material for communication cables. CONSTITUTION:A composition obtained by blending (A) 100pts.wt. ethylene-vinyl acetate based resin, having 0.05-5g/10min melt index (MI) and 5-50wt% vinyl acetate concentration and preferably modified by crosslinking with (B) 75-300 pts.wt., preferably 100-200pts.wt. aluminum hydroxide having 0.1-10mu average particle diameter, (C) 0.5-20pts.wt., preferably 1-10pts.wt. silicone based resin composition and (D) 0.5-20pts.wt., preferably 1-10pts.wt. organic salt of group IIa metal, e.g. magnesium stearate, etc. |
