PURPOSE:To supply smoothly a blank by correcting a tail end of a material by a thermal expansion portion, storing and tracking it, and converting each stroke portion to a scrap after the tail end part has entered into a prescribed cutting length from a center line of a feed roller. CONSTITUTION:When feeding a material, an average speed of a preceding material 61 by a feed roller 3 of the delivery of a heating device 4, and an average speed of a succeeding material 62 by a pinch roller 5 are denoted as NXlf, and NX(lf-DELTAl), respectively, and a material interval (g) in the entry of the roller 3 is kept constant within one stroke. (N: the number of strokes per minute, lf: one stroke hot length, DELTAl: a thermal expansion portion). A tail end position 7 of the preceding material which has been detected by a photoelectric sensor 8 is corrected by a thermal expansion portion, and stored and tracked, and a stroke portion of N0+N1 times after the tail end 7 has entered within an N0 cutting length from a center line of the roller 7 is dropped as a scrap by a cutting device 2 without executing the forging. In this way, a hot blank can be supplied smoothly, exactly and continuously to a forging machine.
