JOINING OF CORE MATERIAL TO SKIN MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To eliminate the use of valuable adhesive and consequently to reduce the manufacturing cost by a method wherein a core material which is made of olefin-based resin and the back layer surface of a skin material which is woven or knitted fabric with multi-layer structure and the back layer of which is made of the same fiber as that of the core material are heated up to the melting point of the resin and, after that, abutted against each other so as to be integrally molded. CONSTITUTION:A polypropylene-based resin sheet 2 is heated up to near its melting point or about 150 deg.C. On the other hand, the back layer surface of a tricot 5 or the back yarn 4 side surface is similarly heated up to its melting point. The core material 2 heated as described above and the back yarn 4 side surface of the tricot heated similarly are press-molded together in abutment against each other. A door trim 1 obtained as described above is heat-fused and surely given an enough bond strength by being applied by pressure with a press.
