<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate generation of a linear contrast failure by setting a line width of a data line extending from a sample holder in a data driver to a display part, to a specified size, and forming a capacity in the sample holder by a liquid crystal layer between the data line and a common electrode. CONSTITUTION:A line width of a data line 2 extending from a sample holder 1 in a data driver part 7 to a display part 16 is set between a data line width in the display part 16, and the minimum size of a design rule of a wiring space from a data line pitch 21. Also, a liquid crystal 6 is enclosed by a spacer between an active matrix substrate 11, and an opposed substrate 10 on which a common electrode 8 has been formed, and a sample holder capacity (a capacity on the data line) is formed by a liquid crystal layer between the data line 2 and the common electrode 8. In this way, even if a disconnection exists in the upper and or the lower end part of the data line in the display part, the capacity is enough for writing an electric signal in a picture element electrode which has been connected to the data line, therefore, a linear contrast failure caused by a write shortage is not generated.</p> |
