PURPOSE:To obtain an image which is high in diagnostic performance by calculating the center of gravity of a virtual closed curve area obtained by connecting detected picture elements, calculating the distance of the center of gravity and each detected picture element, and selecting the largest value. CONSTITUTION:Plural picture elements P1-P5 which are larger than a specific CT value are detected in a sampling image memory for a reconstituted image. The coordinates xc and yc of the center of gravity, the inversion of P, and distances ri (i=1, 2-5) between respective points P1-P5 and the inversion of P are computed from equations (1) and (2) based on coordinates x1, y1...x5, y5 of the picture elements P1-P5. Further, such a reconstitution parameter which has a radius R=maximum value of ri+alpha (proper distance) about the point xc and yc as the center is calculated based on the calculated coordinates xc and yc and the distances ri from the respective points. This parameter is set in reconstitution hardware to reconstitute and display an image. |
