PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an error of an origin position of working of a nozzle by making detecting beam of a sensor which has been fixed to the tip of an arm coincide with a laser beam axis, and detecting a distance between an object to be worked and a nozzle body. CONSTITUTION:Welding and cutting are executed by focusing a laser beam 1 of a high energy by a condensing lens 2 of a nozzle body 3, and irradiating it to an object to be worked 7. In a working head of a laser beam machine of said constitution, a sensor 4 is fixed to the tip of an arm 6 which has been supported pivotally by a pin 9 to a bracket 8 of the nozzle body 3. Prior to working, said arm 6 is turned by using the pin 9 as a supporting point, a laser beam axis is made to coincide with a detecting beam axis 5 of the sensor 4, and a distance between the nozzle body 3 and the object to be worked 7 is detected. At the time of working, said sensor 4 is withdrawn from the detecting position, and fixed to a withdrawn position. In this way, a laser beam machine having a working head for keeping a working origin of a nozzle constant is obtained. |
