The invention relates to the industry of industrial furnaces used for thermal treatment of metals, to forges and to the iron and steel industry. The hot gases arising from the combustion of the burners 1 of the furnace are collected at the outlet of the flues 2 and directed under pressure into the upper part of the furnace at the spring of the vault 7. At this point, a burner 3 with a special nozzle 12 completes the heating of these recycled gases to the desired temperatures. The internal pressure of the furnace is regulated as a function of the temperature variations of the furnace so as to obtain the maximum economy of energy. Application to all industrial furnaces heated by open-flame burners whatever the nature of the gases or oil-based fuels, with the exception of radiant tubes. <IMAGE>
