PURPOSE:To provide the titled fiber having specific initial modulus, mechanical loss tangent, fineness, etc., low increase ratio of the 1st wet twisting tension and the 5th wet twisting tension, decreased number of entanglements and excellent weaving property. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber has an initial modulus of >=55g/d at 30 deg.C, peak temperature of mechanical loss tangent (tan delta) of <=120 deg.C at a measurement frequency of 110Hz and a peak tandelta of <=0.230 and is composed essentially of polyethylene terephthalate. The single fiber fineness is <=5d and the multi- filament yarn fineness is 30-100d. The 1st wet twist tension T1 is 0.1-0.3g/d and the increase ratio (T5-T1)/T1 of the 5th wet twist tension T5 is <10%, preferably <8%. There if little loss of lubricant from the fiber with water. The number of entanglements is <=15/m, preferably <=10/m and a woven fabric produced from the fiber has little gloss and warp streaks. |
