PURPOSE:To form a photosensitive body having high sensitivity and dark resistance and excellent electrophotographic characteristics by consisting photoconductive amorphous silicon particles of an inside layer consisting of amorphous silicon as a base material and coating layer contg. carbon or nitrogen and further conductivity governing material. CONSTITUTION:The pulverized particles of the amorphous silicon have the two-layered structure consisting of the inside layer 1 contg. the amorphous silicon as the base body and the coating layer 2 which covers the surface thereof and contains at least carbon or nitrogen and further the conductivity governing material. Said particles is constituted in the form of powder. The inside layer 1 of the amorphous silicon particles is formed to 0.01-10mu by a glow discharge decomposition method or sputtering method. The entire surface of the inside layer 1 of the amorphous silicon particles is covered while the layer 1 is maintained in the vacuum state, by which the coating layer 2 protecting the surface of the inside layer 1 is formed. |
