Apparatus and method for connecting a group of insulated conductors (16) to a cross-connect connector (10) in which the connector is disposed within an assembly station (22) and the conductor group is fed across the connector. Lengths (178) of the conductors are provided downstream from the assembly station with the conductors aligned with terminals (14) of the connector. Means (106, 108, 110, 122, 124) is provided for inserting the conductors between the terminals and a severing means (42) on the upstream side of the assembly station sever the conductor lengths, after connection to the terminals, from supplies of conductors upstream from the station. |
