1. A method for making roofing tiles (7) from clay or the like, the clay or the like being pressed into the shape of tile required, which tiles are placed immediately after pressing in the flat position each in a respective refractory support (8), while a number of supports are assembled in a pile (13) and the supports with the tiles held flat are guided through a drying zone (15) and a baking zone (16) which is directly joined thereto, characterised in that each refractory support (8) is of H-shaped transverse section, the two main surfaces (11) of the body of each support forming in each case a support surface for one tile the said support surfaces having support elements (10) for supporting the raised portions (9) of the tiles in such a way that each tile (7) is only held locally, whereas in the body of each support a number of openings (18) are formed for air circulation, and that each support (8) is turned over after each drying and baking cycle. |
