PURPOSE:To obtain a DC having less output noise by using a switching element having a reverse blocking function as elements forming arms, and limiting and applying a drive signal during the transient period of ON to OFF of the elements. CONSTITUTION:Switching elements such as insulated gate type transistors 6A-6F having reverse blocking capability are used as elements forming arms of a control rectifier. When there are arms to be turned OFF and arms to be next turned OFF due to switching conductive arms, driving voltages or currents are so applied to both switching elements as to limit so that the elements forming the arms are both disposed in active zone in a transient period that the switching elements are superposed at the transfer from ON to OFF and OFF to ON.
