An appliance for mixing gas into liquids, especially into culture media for growing tissue cultures involving a gas exchange via membrane hoses which are supported on a carrier, are coiled on holders and are being moved in a vessel containing the liquid, the membrane hoses communicating via flexible connection hoses with connection pieces in the cover of the vessel, is to be developed in such a way that the destruction of the membrane hoses during a sterilisation process is prevented. To this end it is provided according to the invention that the connection hose connection piece run through the vessel cover is replaced by a slide, which in one slide position subjects the connection hose connected and thus the membrane hoses to the internal pressure of the vessel and in the other slide position to the gas admixture medium.
