INDUCTION HEATING APPARATUS

Electromagnetic induction heating apparatus suitable for electromagnetic induction heating a strip which is to be treated such as metal strip. The apparatus incorporates magnetic flux diverting mechanism (30) in the vicinity of both edges of the passing strip (2) which diverts a part of an alternating magnetic flux transversing the strip. In consequence, it is possible to eliminate the generation of extremely high temperature regions at the edge portions of the strip to be treated which is caused by the concentration of magnetic flux, ensuring uniform heating temperature distributions over the entire strip.
