PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a condenser for improving power factor and the number of changing-over times by connecting the multiple thyristor inverters on the secondary side in succession and by asymmetrically controlling each thyristor inverter. CONSTITUTION:Tow sets of thyristor inverters 5-1 and 5-2 are connected in succession. Their AC output is regenerated to the AC power source through an inverter transformer 6. Phase control circuits 15-1 and 15-2 are provided for thyristor inverters 5-1 and 5-2. Further, a power factor improving circuit 16 is provided to asymmetically control the phase control circuits 15-1 and 15-2 for power factor improvement, while only each one set of 8-1 and 7-1 is provided as a condenser to improve the power factor and as its circuit breaker. Thus the power factor can be improved by the thyristor inverters for themselves so as to reduce the capacity and the number of changing-over times of the condenser for improving the power factor. |
