The type wheel (1) consisting of a plastic material exhibits, on its front surface (5), three protrusions (1c) which are each provided laterally with a tongue which is in the form of an arc of a circle and is coaxial with the central hole (2) of the type wheel (1). Each tongue (1d) exhibits, for its part, a bead (1e) which projects into the interior of the central hole (2) of the type wheel (1). Said beads (1e) snap, by elastic deformation of the tongues (1d), into an annular groove (6) which is arranged at the journal end (3a) of the spindle (3) of the machine, on which the type wheel is fastened. The central part of the type wheel (1) exhibits three cutouts (7) which are each arranged opposite a protrusion (1c), in order that the elastic tongues (1d) are clearly separated (i.e. free) from the body of the type wheel (1) and can be freely elastically deformed. In order to centre the type wheel (1) on the spindle (3) of the machine, said cutouts (7) are separated from one another by segments (1f) which are arranged on the central part of the type wheel (1), which delimit the hole (2) of the type wheel and which grasp the journal end (3a) of the spindle (3) of the machine. <IMAGE>
