In a process and arrangement for operating a fuel-burning power station, which in the case of the combustion of coal contains a fluidised bed, nitrogen-free oxygen is fed in as the oxidising agent close to the combustion chamber and additionally carbon dioxide, which other than water vapour contains not more than a total of 3 percent by volume of all other impurities, is fed in, in a particular volume ratio to the oxygen, the carbon dioxide being taken at least partially from the off-gas (flue gas) which consists of virtually nitrogen-free carbon dioxide. The purified and processed part of the carbon dioxide, which is not fed to the combustion chamber, is liquefied utilising the cold of liquid oxygen and employing heat pumps, so that the fuel-burning power station described does not release any gaseous emissions into the atmosphere whilst generating electrical energy. |
