The device serves as a stick-shaped applicator for the application of liquid cosmetics. It comprises a sleeve forming the stick for the reception of the cosmetic liquid and a top part, arranged thereon, for the application of this liquid. The top part possesses a number of longitudinal capillary channels which communicate with the liquid inside the sleeve and the outlet openings of which are located in the outer contour of the top part. The mean diameter of the longitudinal channels can be within the range from 0.1 to 0.8 mm. The top part can have various designs. For example, the top part can comprise a bundle of thin tubes representing the longitudinal channels. However, the top part is preferably formed from a roll of sheet material, the sheet material being provided with essentially parallel protuberances and depressions which serve as spacers between the individual windings and thus form the longitudinal channels.
