<p>NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [R<1> is H or carboxyl-protecting group; R<2> is phthalidyl, carboxyl, etc.; R<3> is H or alkoxy; R<4> is H or halogen; R<5> is H or amino; A is CH2 or group of formula II (R<7> is H, alkyl, aryl, heterocyclic group, etc.)] and its salt. EXAMPLE:7-[2-( 2-Aminothiazol-4-yl )-2-( syn )-methoxyiminoacetamido]-3-{[ 1-( 4- phthalidyl-2,3-dioxo-1,2,3,4- tetrahydropyradinyl )]methyl }-DELTA<2>-cephem-4-carboxylic acid. USE:Antibacterial agent effective to Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by (1) reacting the compound of formula III (R<18> is alkyl, etc.; X is halogen) with 2,3-dioxo- 1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrazine of formula IV, (2) deacylating the product, and (3) reacting the resultant compound of formula V with the compound of formula VI.</p> |
