The invention relates to an apparatus for attaching and/or removing a rotary sealing cap (7) onto and from a container (5). It possesses a clamping head (14) which can be placed onto the rotary sealing cap (7), a carrier wall (18) of the clamping head (14), the said carrier wall (18) being in the form of a cylinder casing, surrounding the rotary sealing cap (7) with radial play along the outer circumference (10) of the latter. The carrier wall (18) carries one or more clamping bodies (22) which point inwards with their clamping side (23) and which are located opposite the outer circumference (10) of the cap when the clamping head (14) is in the state placed onto the cap (7). In this state, the clamping sides (23) can be prestressed by means of a pneumatic pressure medium up against the outer circumference of the cap (7). By rotating the clamping head (14) or the container (5) about the longitudinal axis (25) of the carrier wall (18), a cap (7) can be screwed onto a container or unscrewed from a container. <IMAGE>
