PURPOSE:To eliminate the waiting time for setting a reused unit by performing the preprocessing of developer agitation only when the set unit is a fresh unit. CONSTITUTION:If the code of the set unit is not stored in a RAM 14 in case of replacement of an image forming unit 2, a data comparison control circuit 13 registers the code of the unit in the storage area of the RAM 14 and outputs a command signal S to the main control part 18 of a device body 1 to instruct the control part 18 to agitate a developer in the developing device 17 of this unit because this unit is a fresh unit. Thus, an agitating device is operated to agitate the developer sufficiently. If the code of the unit set to the device body 1 is already stored in the RAM 14, the data comparison control circuit 13 outputs the command signal S to instruct the main control part 18 to stop the preprocessing of developer agitation and the operation of the agitating device is stopped to set immediately the holding state of printing operation because the unit is a reused unit. |
