PURPOSE:To prepare the title resin capable of affording coating film of high hardness, alkali and acid resistance, impact resistance, etc., by adding a water-soluble organic or inorganic acid to a copolymer from a specific ethylenic unsaturated monomer. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin can be obtained by adding, to A) a copolymer prepared from a) an amineimide group-contg. ethylenic unsaturated monomer of formula [n is 1 or 2; R1 is mono- or divalent residue of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, R2-R4 are each 1-18C(hydroxy) alkyl] b) a hydroxyl group-contg. ethylenic unsaturated monomer such as 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, etc., and c) another ethylenic unsaturated monomer such as ethylene, etc., B) a water-soluble inorganic or organic acid such as hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, etc. |
